Seemingly not content with cornering the attentions of general consumers with its eponymous Eee PC line of ultra-mobile computers, everyone’s favourite Netbook maker ASUSTeK has joined forces with media giant Disney in order to set about collaring the kids.

Taking aim at children aged between six and 12, the new Disney-branded ASUS mini notebook, which is known as the Netpal, comes equipped with an Intel Atom mobile processor, an 8.9-inch LCD display screen, data storage flavours of either 16GBs of SSD or 160GBs of HDD, and Microsoft’s long-serving Windows XP operating system.

Beyond being just a standard Netbook with the Disney name stamped on its hood (which it clearly is), the little Netpal is likely to appeal specifically to knee-high consumers thanks to the inclusion of a colourful and fun customised interface that offers a host of Disney themes from classic movies such as Toy Story, Cars and WALL-E.

Other features and function attached to the Netpal include, an integrated Web camera, the wireless convenience of Wi-Fi connectivity, whitelist and blacklist parental controls for filtering online content, widgets for access to the wonders of Disney Radio, and colour design choices of floral pink or Mickey Mouse blue.

Parents with $350 USD to burn should expect ominous pocket yanking and incessant pleas of want to begin some time around the end of July.
